Where the land meets the sea

California's Highway One is supposed to be one of the most scenic drives in the world. Sadly, we didn't get the chance to go all the way but we did however see one of it's treasures.

Point Lobos Natural Reserve is located at Highway 1 & Riley Ranch RD, Carmel CA. It's known to be the "crown jewel of the state park system."

Easily one of the most beautiful places I've been to yet. Mostly because I find it rather unusual.

It's mix of elements are foreign to me: sand, water, shale, corals, plateaus, beaches and plant life. Usually it's just one of the other, but seeing all of them in one place is pretty cool. :)

In wilderness I sense the miracle of life, and behind it our scientific accomplishments fade to trivia.
